The Assistant Controller is a hands-on accounting position responsible for assisting in the compilation, review, and analysis of accounting transactions and financial reporting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare journal entries
  • GL account reconciliation and analysis
  • Cash flow tracking and bank reconciliations
  • Prepaid and expense accrual analysis
  • Revenue and COGS review and reconciliation
  • Month-end close activities and financial statement preparation
  • Preparation of audit schedules and reports
  • Preparation of statutory state and local filings EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Experience as an assistant controller or other similar position
    • Solid knowledge of GAAP, CPA, PCAOB audits preferred
    • Self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
    • Start-up company experienced - preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Experience with QAD (or equivalent MRP system) Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
      • Strong leadership ability; someone who leads, motivates, and inspires with a positive attitude by modeling, coaching, and mentoring.
      • Experienced communicator/presenter of technical information with a quality focus to internal as well as external partners.
      • Must be well organized and possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple areas of responsibility concurrently. -
      • Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
      • Team player/builder; good coach and able to assist people with adjusting to change. Must possess a "can-do" attitude.
      • Results and goal oriented; a true professional who can deliver on budget and on time.
      • Ability and desire to be proactive not just reactive; a questioning mindset.
      • A creative thinker; one who looks for new and innovative ways of doing things. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
        • Bachelor's degree in accounting - Required PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
