About the Team
Western Digital's Flash business is looking for ways to extract
insight from our data. The Business Analytics team was established
to build, scale and maintain new reporting, analytics, and tools
capabilities to enable effective data-driven decision making.
Central to this effort is improving our internal customer
experience engaging with our data. From data visualizations and
dashboards to home-grown applications, our team seeks to marry
analytics with elegant and compelling design.
You combine business acumen with analytical rigor to lead projects
that turn data into action. You've got excellent analytical skills
and confidence tackling nebulous cross-functional business
challenges. You're an outstanding communicator and collaborator at
all levels of the organization, and have a knack for clearly
articulating complex problems and steps necessary for big-picture
success. You take feedback or creative direction objectively and
Work You'll Do
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with marketing, engineering, sales, finance, and others
to identify key pain points or business questions they need help
- Project manage each engagement by gathering requirements,
establishing a schedule with data engineering, performing the
analysis and building elegant visualizations to communicate results
to executive stakeholders
- Select and apply analytical techniques, models or tools that
are best fit for the project you're leading
- Wireframe and develop advanced data visualizations and/or BI
Dashboards to support the needs of internal and external
- Automate manual or repetitive tasks to help scale across the
- Examples of common projects include measuring portfolio return
on investment, market and competitive analytics, supply
optimization, and more.
- 5+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, or
finance. Related experience in design, UI/UX, or related fields a
- Demonstrated track record of effectively solving business
problems with data and driving tangible results
- Continued education and research into new analytics techniques
- Proficient in Tableau, including advanced analytics, level of
detail calculations, etc. Experience with other business
intelligence platforms (MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Spotfire) a
- Proficiency in dashboard layout, design, and wireframing
- Competency in SQL and Python required, experience with
SnapLogic a plus.
- Project management skills to effectively lead and deliver
projects independently with minimal guidance

- An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based
on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant
education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2)
skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance,

internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational
