Principal Engineer, Servo Mechanical Engineering

• Leading servo integration activities such as firmware feature development and verification, process validation and test time reduction, and firmware release to production lines to support program schedule
• Providing direction to Servo functional teams such as servo design, servo electronics and servo firmware teams to define the appropriate product design points.
• Acting as the focal point of communication to represent the servo team in cross-functional activities and working with other functional leads as well as program management to optimize the program schedule and balance the resources and priorities throughout the development cycles.
• Developing servo algorithms for embedded system in Matlab and C based on feedback/feedforward control for hard disk drive (HDD), performing code integration, validation and release.
• Collaborating with Mechanical team on head-positioning analysis, performing assessment on impact of mechanical vibration from chassis on HDD.
• Performing failure analysis (FA) to support manufacturing and reliability tests for HDD applications ABOUT WESTERN DIGITAL--
