Corin, a medical device company, are seeking a talented and
driven Hardware Design Engineer - Robotics to join our System
Robotic Technologies Team in our Milpitas offices.--The team
interacts across departments to develop advanced joint replacement
technology for surgical application.--The Hardware Engineer
develops and supports this advanced technology, from concept to
commercial, with responsibility for surgical robotic design and
development, including requirements, specifications, architecture
and component selection.Corin are embarking upon significant market
and feature expansion of our innovative robotically assisted
platform for joint replacement surgery. Offering a unique
combination of clinically proven hip & knee solutions and world
leading technologies, our OMNIBotics system utilizes intelligent
robotic instrumentation to give surgeons the ability to perform
patient-specific procedures with high accuracy, with more
consistent results, and improved recovery rates. Our Optimized
Positioning System utilizes advanced computational modelling to
understand how a patient moves off the table; allowing for planning
the position of implants, optimizing functional implant alignment,
and improving outcomes. U.S. based headquarter is located just
south of Boston, in Raynham, MA, with offices located in both
Tampa, FL and Milpitas, CA.Key responsibilities for a Hardware
Development Engineer - Robotics within our team @ Corin-- Design,
define, and develop customer modules, features, and package
integrations from proposal to product-- Qualify hardware
components-- Perform risk analysis for all hardware components--
Using thorough knowledge of the architecture of current products,
support development work performed by internal and external
partners-- Write/review test protocols and report for evidence
generation to support product development-- With external partners,
lead technical hardware product activities, provide customer
support and address complaints and manufacturability issues--
Participate in supplier qualification activities including
collaborating with Regulatory and Quality Systems functions in
sourcing and selection processes-- Present clear and timely
reporting, both written and verbal, to provide technical and
project status updates.-- As an active and engaged team member,
propose innovative ideas to improve design, operability, usability
and human factorsThe ideal Hardware Development Engineer - Robotics
will have / be* B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering or a related Engineering discipline* Ideally medical
device industry experience with an emphasis on knee and hip
replacement technology preferred* Hands-on experience in Hardware
Engineering as part of a team focused on developing complex
products using a multi-disciplinary approach* Medical device
development in a regulated environment such as FDA and/or ISO
Quality Systems, CE Marking strongly preferred* Robotics experience
strongly preferred* History of writing/following SOP's and detailed
work instructions* Travel:--The position requires the ability and
willingness to travel 10-20% of the time, mainly domestically
including Corin USA's Milpitas, CA, location and for meetings,
conferences, trainingsSpecific technical skills required include:*
Experience with electrical schematic, PCB design and layout*
Experience with FMEA, Design of Experiments, Design of
Manufacturability, human factors, usability engineering, and
qualification testing for new products highly desirable* Working
knowledge of quality systems for medical devices including, but not
limited to IEC 60601, 21CFR 820 and ISO 13485.--ASQ certification a
plus* Computer proficiency with Microsoft OfficeAdditional skills
needed include a demonstrated history of:* Problem-solving skills
as applied to both specific technical issues and conceptual "open
ended" issues, identifying critical criteria in problem-solving*
Demonstrated history of collaborating successfully across multiple
functions and external customers* Successfully meeting deadlines
under strict time constraints* Ability to work independently, to
set priorities, and follow through on deliverables* Ability to
define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions* History of presenting technical material to audience
with varying levels of technical knowledgePlease note that no
