CA Job Type : Hybrid (1 days per week in office) As a Senior
Project Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for the
planning, execution, and delivery of complex, large-scale capital
projects within the electric utility sector. This role has full
accountability for multi-year, high-value, and high-visibility
projects and portfolios, from early concept development through
planning, design, construction, and closeout. Operating with a high
degree of autonomy, you will serve as a trusted owner's
representative and advisor, exercising sound judgment in technical,
commercial, and stakeholder decisions. You will lead and mentor
project teams, influence cross-functional and external partners,
and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within
budget, and in alignment with organizational and regulatory
requirements. This position requires advanced project management
expertise, deep technical understanding of utility infrastructure,
and strong executive-level communication skills. Your Day-to-Day
Activities: Serve as a trusted advisor and owner's representative
for electric utility clients, providing strategic guidance
throughout project planning, design, construction, and closeout.
Lead complex, multi-year, and high-visibility capital projects and
programs, often across multiple locations and stakeholders. Develop
and manage integrated project execution plans, including scope,
schedule, cost, resourcing, risk, and quality management
strategies. Prepare and defend business cases, funding
justifications, and project governance documentation for client
leadership and regulatory review. Maintain full accountability for
project financial performance, including capital budgets,
forecasts, and contingencies. Apply advanced project controls to
track cost, schedule, and risk performance; identify trends,
recommend mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues.
Develop executive-ready reports, dashboards, and performance
metrics to support client decision-making. Lead and facilitate
client and stakeholder meetings, including scoping sessions,
constructability and design reviews, procurement and bid
evaluations, construction progress reviews, stage gate reviews,
commissioning, and lessons-learned workshops. Oversee procurement
and contract strategies, including negotiation and administration
of consultant, contractor, and vendor agreements; manage change
orders, claims, and dispute resolution. Direct and mentor project
managers, engineers, and support staff; provide technical and
professional guidance to build team capability and consistency.
Conduct and oversee site visits, design reviews, and
constructability assessments to identify risks early and ensure
compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with permitting agencies, municipalities, and regulatory
bodies to secure approvals and maintain compliance. Lead client
engagement related to land rights, easements, and property
coordination, balancing stakeholder concerns with project
objectives. Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings on
project status, risks, mitigation strategies, and recommendations.
Contribute to continuous improvement by refining project management
processes, sharing best practices, and supporting proposal
development, client pursuits, or thought leadership initiatives as
needed. The Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering,
construction management, business, or a related field 10 years of
work experience in project management or construction management 5
years of experience communicating with and managing expectations
with stakeholders Professional Engineer ( PE ) license, Project
Management Professional ( PMP ) or similar certification
Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary,
and multi-year projects or programs, including responsibility for
budget, schedule, and risk outcomes. Proven ability to manage
multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high-quality client
service. Experience creating schedules and analyzing Gantt charts
You'll stand out if you have: Experience with electrical
distribution, substation, or transmission projects Experience with
Oracle Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project Proficiency with project
management tools and methodologies (e.g., CPM scheduling, earned
value, risk management), including advanced Excel-based reporting
