Individuals of all ages, all people of color, women, women of color, individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, and all other individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.THE ROLE:The Senior Manager of Standards Business Development is responsible for providing oversight of the operations of the SEMI International Standards Program and, with the Senior Director of Standards and EHSS, is responsible for determining global strategies for the program. SEMI regional offices, including standards, are separate entities with matrixed-managed reporting to SEMI HQ. As such, staffing and direction from SEMI HQ must occur through strong collaboration and influence with regional management.The position is responsible for the financial performance of the Standards Program, with emphasis on developing new revenue sources, including training and accreditation. The role must provide public presentations, information, and articles pertaining to SEMI Standards. The position must ensure that programs and initiatives meet SEMI's charter and can be provided within the existing budget. Operational responsibilities include direct management of HQ Standards staff and dotted-line management of regional Standards staff. Responsibilities also include collaboration with SEMI internal marketing in determining the right methods and activities for marketing of standards.This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Senior Director of Standards and EHSS at SEMI Milpitas Office.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:You are a technically sound semiconductor industry professional with operational experience, who has managed international teams with responsibility for profit and loss. You are skilled in business development with a sense for monetization and your career path has shown positive financial results and increasing responsibility.The ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, and respond quickly but accurately are your stock in trade. You have the ability to take complex information and transform it into simple, cohesive material. You are a process-oriented problem solver who can manage multiple issues and projects with limited resources. You can lead a team to achieve Standards Program goals and can align those objectives with the overall SEMI organizational goals.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Standards Products and Services well-designed to meet the ongoing needs of the SEMI Standards Community. This includes published products, online and in-person training, forums, accreditation, and other potential new sources of revenue
  • Overall financial performance of global Standards Program. Close collaboration with global sales staff to achieve annual sales targets
  • Ownership of Standards Publications (SEMIViews subscription product and individual downloads)
  • With the Senior Director, Standards and EHSS, and Vice President of Technology Communities, develop long-term strategies and roadmaps for the Standards Program to ensure both financial viability and member satisfaction, and meet the charter established by the Board of Directors
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and member needs
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate projects and programs for the Standards Program - including industry technical programs, meetings, forums, workshops, and special interest groups
  • Assure Program success by coordinating efforts with industry associations who hold similar objectives
  • Prepare detailed budgets, program plans, schedules, and timelines
  • Coordinate with SEMI staff and members in other regions to align global Standards revenue strategies
  • Engage with other SEMI Technology Communities to expand scope of Standards Program, and departments such as Marketing and IT Operations to achieve Program goals
  • Oversee the department's information and marketing efforts for programs and meetings, including the SEMI website communications, and external sources
  • Provide SEMI members with information and services, as needed
  • Oversee administrative functions such as voting systems, database and communicationsWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
    • You have significantly increased Global Standards revenue year over year while controlling costs.
    • You have identified key stakeholder training needs in relevant regions and transitioned them into profitable training courses, programs, or forums
    • You have created, communicated, and delivered Standards products and services that have value for SEMI members, partners, and industry at large
    • You have increase Standards visibility across all SEMICONs and SEMI events
    • You understand your audience, know how to attract new audiences, and are successful at Standards community managementCRITICAL SKILLS:
      • Operate within the organization's formal and informal structures, build allies and relationships across departments, use allies to build consensus and create results, appropriately diplomatic, understand others' roles and perspectives, sell projects and ideas across the organization.

      • Great time management and project management skillsKNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE:
        • B.S./B.A. in business or engineering
        • Minimum 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and/or trade association industry with responsibility for profit and loss is required
        • Previous management of staff and major programs is required
        • Demonstrated experience in working with culturally diverse staff and customers preferred - multilingual abilities in a language of SEMI presence (e.g., China, Korea, Taiwan) is a plus
        • Hands-on experience in the development of standards (if from industry) or management of standards development (if from a trade association or professional association) is preferred
        • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience with budgeting software is a plus
