Job Description:

The successful candidate for this position will be key to XL's success by leading four key areas of the IT organization:

• Providing oversight of our Managed Service Provider (MSP),
• Establishing an enhanced field support system,
• Ownership of the business systems optimization and
• Managing the organizations cyber security risk profile Providing direction and instruction to the MSP in collaboration with the organizations initiatives ensures a better support response system. Enhancing the field response and support system will raise customer satisfaction of our job site teams and increase productivity. Ownership of the business systems will ensure that we are getting the most out of our applications, they are kept up to date, and that they maintain acceptable uptime windows. Managing our organizations cyber risk profile involves maintaining access levels across a wide range of applications, end point and hardware responsiveness, and establishing an official plan for the internal phishing education of end users. In addition to these responsibilities the successful candidate will also maintain infrastructure, move applications to the cloud as appropriate and ensure a strong, robust, and timely disaster recovery plan and practice. Responsibilities:
  • Manage the MSP (Managed Service Provider) to obtain optimal cohesion between the business and the MSP
  • Developing infrastructure solutions to regional offices and project sites
  • Translate business process rules into system processes to solve for both business and technical needs
  • Create and maintain cyber security mitigation plans, access controls, monitoring, disaster recovery plans
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting internal systems to develop optimized solutions
  • Provide a tier 3 level of IT support regarding integrations and complex infrastructure issues
  • Provide expertise to new business initiatives or management teams as needed
  • Manage ongoing cases and be resolution minded Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • 5+ Years in the IT manager or greater role, BA preferred
    • Vendor management contracts and pricing experience
    • Experience working with teams to support both hardware and software
    • Cyber security awareness and experience developing mitigation and disaster recovery plans
    • Detail oriented in tracking issues and maintains communication of resolutions
    • Experience optimizing and developing system solutions with business groups
    • Easily explain projects to users and others
    • Experience building, developing, and leading a team
    • Excellent project management Skills
    • Developed experience with business processes and technical processes and their integrations
    • Determine when a system should be on premise, private cloud, or vendor cloud
