California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of
the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account
the wide range of factors that are considered in making
compensation decisions including but not limited to experience,
skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and
certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is
not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the
top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based
on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary
range for this position is $77,900 - $143,300. The budgeted salary
range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this
position is $97,000 - $117,000.Job Closing Date This position is
expected to work mostly on-campus although there may be occastional
remote work days.This is a renewable 3-year contract appointment
eligible for full University of California benefits.Initial

About the Job The Director of Student Affairs leads the curricular
advising program and student support operations. Through the work
of the team they supervise, the Director is responsible for social
programming, academic activities, academic remediation and support
programs, career advising, and supporting students in the medical
school application process. The Director collaborates with faculty
and DOME leadership to integrate student services and the
curriculum. The Director develops, prioritizes, and implements
strategies that improve program and curricular quality, processes,
and compliance by providing vision, leadership, strategic
direction, and evaluation of various services offered in support of
students enhancing their capacities to be active, engaged, and
successful learners. The Director develops the long-term
organizational goals of the unit and manages student affairs for UC
Merced's Department of Medical Education (DOME) and SJV PRIME+, a
Baccalaureate/MD program in partnership with UCSF and its regional
campus at UCSF Fresno. The Director develops and manages programs
and events - throughout the curriculum, including major milestone
events - designated to enhance the student experience and
professional advancement of pre-health, pre-medical, and first-year
BS/MD medical students to ensure each student is supported,
empowered, and progresses professionally in their journey to
becoming a healthcare professional. This includes:
