Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips - Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support certifications Description: This position is for a high acuity telemetry unit. The role involves caring for patients with cardiac and telemetry needs. You will work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4. The unit has 34 beds and is equipped for complex cases. There will be a requirement for 2 weekends every 4 weeks. Two out of three major holidays must be covered. The charge nurse typically does not take patients. Nurse aides are present but may not always be available. You will have the opportunity for extra shifts at times. Travelers may float to other units as necessary. Common diagnoses include stroke, respiratory failure, and heart conditions. You will not be assigned patients requiring intensive monitoring like catheterization or PCI. There is no call requirement associated with this position. The environment includes a team of hospitalists available 24/7. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are also available 24/7. Candidates should expect to engage in primary nursing responsibilities. Charting utilizes the Cerner EMR system.
