Job Description:

Preston Companies is looking for a IT System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently as well as incorporate new ideas.

IT Systems Administrator Responsibilities
Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event lop warnings and errors. Resourcing monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise
Help build, test and maintain new servers as needed
Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates
Support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, Cisco wireless AP's and network segments
Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
Build upon an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

IT Systems Administrator Requirements
5 years of experience
Proven experience as a system administrator, network administrator or similar role
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
Ability to create and troubleshoot scripts
Excellent communications skills
Knowledge in Microsoft 365/Azure
