Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions. The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.ResponsibilitiesThe Surfscan-ADE division is hiring an intern software engineer to join the software development team in Milpitas, CAThe role requires develop Python based application.Candidate should be able to gather requirements from Systems Engineers and develop application in Python or other high-level languages that meets required performance specifications.The candidate should have solid fundamentals in math and be able to analyze large sets of data, perform modeling, design, and develop highly optimized software that runs reliably in a fully automated production environment.QualificationsExtensive Experience in software design and development using Python on Windows Operating system.Extensive experience in Python scripting language and good knowledge of Math is required.Exposure to Software Configuration Management tools such as Rational Team Concert is desirable.Must have excellent communication skills, inter personnel skills and must be a self-motivated learner.Required to work on all aspects of Software development such as writing technical / software requirements, design documents and User manual during the project implementation.Requires extensive cross functional group interactions. Should be able to work independently with Systems Engineers, gather requirements and translate into Software requirements, design, and code.Familiarity of semiconductor industry is a big plus but not an absolute requirement.Minimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsCandidates must be a senior year of undergrad BS / MS in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering or equivalent program.COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required where permitted by law.
