The candidate will contribute to all project phases including requirements definition and gap analysis, modeling of various ground system/satellite configurations, development, integration, testing and resolution of defects for the delivery of the ground system software and other resource management tools. This individual must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as they will be working with other technical department team members, non-technical users, and vendors to ensure issues are analyzed and resolved in an expeditious manner.Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • NoneDuties/Responsibilities:
    • Actively contribute in all phases of software development, maintenance and operation
    • Participate in system scoping through the development and maintenance of modeling simulations.
    • Investigate reported issues and create hotfixes when necessary
    • Work with the cross-functional project teams to develop applications
    • Implement continuous delivery techniques where practical and appropriate
    • Follow agile development principles and continuously review, implement and communicate process improvement metrics to the team
    • Follow the established Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards
    • Work effectively with cross-functional team members to identify and resolve issuesRequired Skills/Abilities:
      • Practical knowledge of system modeling tools such as MatLab and Satellite Toolkit, within the context of satellite and ground system modeling
      • Familiarity with RESTful service design
      • Knowledge of Multi-threading and Multi-tier applications
      • Familiarity with Agile SDLC
      • Familiarity with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment concepts
      • Highly skilled in trouble isolation techniquesEducation and Experience:
        • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other STEM Degree
        • Three years' experience in UNIX software development environments developing with C++, Java, Perl scripting and Python
        • PL-SQL and Oracle database experience required
        • Graphical User Interface design and development is a plusPhysical Requirements:
          • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
