Senior Linux System Administrator Maintains an organization's
computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep,
configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems,
including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and
software * Classified work and must be on-site Environment is 80%
or more Linux/UNIX and 20% or less Windows with 600 Physical and
virtual servers covering various levels of very complex classified
systems and networks. Responsible for performing in-depth analysis
and technical support of systems, including complex problem
resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration,
and user support. Provide operating systems planning and evaluation
for performance analysis, capacity planning and hardware upgrades.
Provide specialized expertise within multiple IT systems such as:
Windows 2016/2019 server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMWare
hypervisor, VMWare Horizon, as well as general knowledge of related
disciplines. This would include performing installation,
administration, troubleshooting and support of server operating
systems/services, storage, and Data Center solutions. Oversee the
implementation of system specifications; integration, testing, and
documentation are a key part of the role. Exhibit strong technical
skills as they relate to numerous systems and storage technologies
including but not limited to: Windows Server 2016/2019, Microsoft
SQL Server, DC’s/DNS, DFS, Active Directory, Group Policy
Management, DHCP, IIS, VMware ESXi 7, NetApp ONTAP, Cisco
UCS/Nexus, ACAS , SCCM, Hyper-V. Responsible for performing
in-depth analysis and technical support of systems, including
complex problem resolution, design, development, testing,
operational integration, and user support. Provide operating
systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity
planning and hardware upgrades. Core Systems: Domain Controllers,
Linux servers, DNS, VMware, HPE Blade System, Storage switches
Supplemental Systems / Software: SQL, Backups, DHCP, Puppet,
Ansible, Share/NFTS permissions, DFS, CIFS, NFS, NETAPP, Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Clustering System administration and IT
certification in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
required Working knowledge of Administration and maintenance of
Bare Metal hypervisors (VMWare, XenServer, Hyper-V, etc.) Working
knowledge of Administration and maintenance of configuration
management / automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.) Working
knowledge of Administration and maintenance of Unix/Linux Operating
System Working knowledge of SAN storage configuration and
maintenance Working knowledge of Basic enterprise networking
configuration and maintenance; routing, redistribution, ACLs, NAT,
VPN, Layer 2/3 switching, monitoring solutions (Solarwinds/Splunk),
encryption devices (KG175, KG250, etc) Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities MUST be hands on with systems and technology! Must have
10 years working in a Linux or Windows Environment (Windows Server
2016/2019, RHEL, CentOS, etc.) Experience with troubleshooting and
issue resolution principles, methodologies and techniques Basic
knowledge Oracle and SQL database management Advanced knowledge of
virtualization, VMware or equivalent Working knowledge of systems
and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols Strong
knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and
IT operations best practices; including expert knowledge of
security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
Experience with scripting and automation tools Good communications
skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
Security Requirements Must have a Top Secret-SCI security clearance
Education and Certification Requirements ITIL v3 Certification
preferred DoDI 8570.01m Certification required The likely salary
range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not,
however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will
be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly
contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
