These make up the core elements of the KETOS platform - and lead to the smart water data needed for smart irrigation, industries and cities.Job Summary/Objective:KETOS is looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer with strong electrical engineering and firmware skills to participate in designing, implementing, and supporting KETOS innovative IoT node and gateway hardware which connects to the Cloud for actionable water analytics with predictive insights on water management and monitoring water contaminants. Our systems are fully automated with the highest caliber of sensitivity and specificity with remote software control.Key Responsibilities:--- Design and develop embedded hardware & firmware for automated electromechanical systems.--- Design and develop robust future proof electronics systems for scale as well as maintain and improve existing electromechanical systems.--- Mentor other junior engineers in design best practices & Root Cause Analysis including but not limited to electrical noise mitigation, novel sensing technologies, system optimization and industry standard hardware development cycle.---Must be familiar with UL/CE and other applicable international regulatory requirements--- Participate in the entire application development lifecycle, focusing on documenting, coding, testing, debugging and supporting various features.--- Interface with low-level sensors and peripherals--- Debug and fix hardware/software issues in embedded systems--- Create engineering specifications and documentation--- Collaborate with the mechanical team, R&D, Cloud Software and QA team to understand integration and testing requirements.--- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure all issues related to design change are understood in advance of implementation.--- Desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentSkills & Qualifications:--- BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7+ years working as Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer--- Solid understanding of complex electro-mechanical automated systems--- Basic knowledge of fluidic systems and related controls--- Excellent documentation practices and communication skills--- Commitment to maintaining project schedules and delivering tasks on timeEMBEDDED:--- Excellent C/C++/Python programming skills with experience in embedded system design and development (90%)--- Extensive experience in debugging embedded systems and microcontroller peripherals including I2C/SMB, SPI, UART, ADC (90%)--- Multi-tasking, multi-threading, and/or RTOS experience (80%)--- Experience with ARM Cortex M0/M3/M4, 8051, and MSP430 microcontrollers (50%)--- Experience with wireless communication techniques and associated protocols such as LoRaWAN, WiFi, BLE, cellular communication (LTE) (70%)--- Strong hands-on skills in troubleshooting and debugging embedded Linux and Arduino based systems (80%)--- Knowledge of Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) Update is a plus (40%)--- Experience with security architecture such as TPM, HSM, TrustZone, TEE, eSE, etc. is a plus (50%)--- Knowledge of networking connectivity protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, MQTT, AMQP (70%)--- Familiarity with JSON or XML data formats for cloud-based data collection for services such as AWS or Azure or GCP (50%)--- Experience with JIRA or other issue tracking software (50%)--- Experience with unit testing and unit testing frameworks/tools such as Unity, CMock, and Ceedling (30%)ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING:?--- Ability design systems from block diagrams to schematics & PCB layout (60%)--- Familiarity with low power design practices for battery powered devices (60%)--- Strong lab equipment instrumentation skills for debugging existing end new electronic designs.(70%)--- Prototype build to medium volume manufacturing (60%)
