With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of HPC system in BBP division, managing a group of HW and SW engineers who work on the current and next generation BBP HPC systems that ship with KLA flagship products

  • Lead the development of next generation HPC system, collaborating with stake holders to define specs and system components.

  • Model & characterize the performance of HPC systems by optimizing CPU-GPU-ML-Data/IO to achieve most cost-effective solution

  • Manage the engineering tool build plan and execute it for on-time delivery

  • Analyze the unforeseen risks for the programs and implement mitigation plan

  • Lead collaboration with cross-divisional HPC teams to develop best common technology solution

Required Skills:

  • Able to manage the team

  • Solid knowledge on the HPC cluster systems, including high-bandwidth inter-connect, scalable/robust storage, CPU / GPU architecture

  • Hands-on knowledge on Linux OS and Windows System, storage, and networking.

  • Hands-on design/analysis experience on HPC system that validates specs (storage, data rate, interconnection, computation, memory-bandwidth, etc.) and analyzes cost.

  • Strong scripting and programming skills (Shell, Python, C++ or Java)

  • Familiarity with system performance analysis, profiling and tuning

  • Familiarity with distributed computing concepts and familiarity with shared and distributed memory parallelism programming models such as OpenMP or MPI

  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, including open-source and commercial

Preferred Skills:

  • Troubleshooting skills or experience on the interconnect issue

  • Familiarity with container technologies

  • Experience with Linux kernel and OS tuning is a plus

  • Experience with Mellanox IB technologies is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 3 years , Master's Level Degree or work experience of 6 years , Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 8 years
