Together we can tackle any challenge.As a Cartage Supervisor, you will supervise and coordinate local Cartage employees and the operational activities necessary to exceed our employees' and customers' expectations. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the Watchpoint Logistics Cartage operation to ensure local P&D efficiencies and customer satisfaction.Are you ready to join a Company with more than 35 years of industry experience and resources across the globe in custom logistics and data solutions?Key Responsibilities:Supervises the daily cartage activities. Oversees the development and execution of processes to ensure the work is handled effectively, safely, professionally, and in a timely mannerSupport a culture that promotes safety as a top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and company regulatory policies and proceduresRespond and follow up with customers (internal and external) to determine satisfaction, resolve problems, seek feedback for improvement, and build and maintain relationshipsPlan, schedule, coordinate, and implement methods for the most efficient and economical routing of customer freightMonitor and track driver performance, arrival times, loads per day, and overall customer satisfactionImplement cost-saving measures by working closely with drivers, and dispatchers, and utilizing software tools.Monitor driver's daily pre-trip inspection, address findings and ensure driver conducts proper inspections.Review all truck repair issues and ensure mechanical issues are fixed.Complete accident and injury reports. Respond to vehicle accident investigations and property damage claimsProvide guidance and on-the-job training to all dispatch personnelPerform route observations to ensure safety procedures are followed. Complete route observation reports and discusses observations with drivers including safety issues, customer calls, route cleanliness, and truck appearanceShare Smith System Driving techniques and ensure that employees adhere to and are knowledgeable of safety guidelines. Reinforce daily safe work practices and the delivery of weekly safety meetingsConduct performance evaluations, monitor and track employee attendance, provide coaching, complete disciplinary actions and attend meetings that apply positive leadership principlesIdentify and support training and development opportunities for driversPrepare and compile daily, weekly, and monthly performance and service records and measure conformance to company standardsSupports, leads, and helps to influence change, and improve processes so that the Company's key objectives and business goals are metRequirements:Associate's degree or higher preferred3 years or more experience leading a cartage operationStrong knowledge of DOT and OSHA laws and regulationsKnowledge of the LTL and Transportation IndustryMust possess effective communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent customer service skills: dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customersStrong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organizationAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, managers, and customersAbility to work well in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environmentMust possess problem-solving skillsExperience with Microsoft Office products and ability to adapt to other computer software systemsMust meet and demonstrate Company's Core Competencies.Exceed Customer ExpectationsExhibit Integrity & TrustPractice Continuous ImprovementAlways be Curious (Creativity and Innovation)Be Resilient (Adaptability)Seek Quality GrowthHave High Quality of WorkDependableSafety is a PriorityFoster Positive TeamworkPhysical Demands/Work Environment:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs at timesAble to use warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucksWatchpoint Logistics, Inc. is an equal opportunity employerVisit us at https://www.watchpointlogistics.com
