Senior Director COMPENSATION : Starting at $91,000, DOE STATUS :
Full-time, Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The position of Behavioral
Health Manager is a Senior Leadership position. It's an exciting
new position designed to oversee and strengthen the clinical
services offered by HomeFirst Services. This is a perfect position
for someone who demonstrates strong management skills and is
passionate about providing clinical leadership while working with
the homeless or formerly homeless populations. Together with the
Behavioral Health Senior Director, the Behavioral Health Manager
will provide clinical guidance and leadership for the agency. The
manager will provide direct management, caseload assignment and
oversight, and support for clinicians and interns/trainees in a
variety of programs at HomeFirst. The Behavioral Health Manager is
relentless in their commitment to ending homelessness via the
principles of Housing First and Harm Reduction. They demonstrate
this commitment through thoughtful, strategic program design and a
scientific approach to performance improvement. Their participation
in the continuous testing, analysis, and refinement of programs
reflects their personal pursuit of excellence in all that they do.
The Behavioral Health Manager is able to navigate the competing
demands of internal and external stakeholders and balances their

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct Clinical Management Provide direct
management, training, and guidance to clinicians within the scope
of practice and consistent with licensing board and agency
standards Provide oversite of all caseloads in all programs to
ensure that client-centered services are administered
professionally and effectively and that they are consistent with
HomeFirst values and principles Directly manage the clinical
staff's caseloads, timesheets, and schedules Oversee the hiring,
onboarding, and evaluation of the clinical staff Provide clinical
leadership in areas of assessment, case conferences, treatment
plans, and interventions to ensure quality care Train and coach
staff on Medi-Cal documentation standards, as needed, and review
Mental Health Assessments, Transformational Care Plans, and
Progress Notes as a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts
(LPHA) Organize and assign clinician caseloads Provide
consultation, assessment, and intervention to agency staff in
response to client crises, including providing coverage in
emergency situations Manage the on-call crisis telephone support
rotation for clinical staff Identify gaps and trends, and take the
creative initiative to address them, together with the Behavioral
Health Director General: Participate in ongoing quality assurance
activities, such as monitoring client care, facilitating the
administration of satisfaction surveys, and ensuring compliance
with client records and documentation Pursue the consistent
application of industry best practices Support in the evaluation
and analysis of department infrastructure and services Maintain
ongoing awareness of community trends Attend and participate in
staff, program, agency, and community meetings, as required Ensure
license and continuing education credits are up to date Attend
ongoing supervision training, including but not limited to
Reflective Supervision, Competency-Based Supervision, and
additional behavioral health training on best practices and methods
Ensure accurate and timely data entry of information into the
electronic health records system Collaborate frequently and closely
with various programs within the agency to provide seamless and
quality service delivery Participate in departmental strategic
planning with the Behavioral Health Senior Director, and support
achievement of the identified goals Collaborate with the Training
Department to identify, initiate, or facilitate in-house behavioral
health training and workshops, for staff development and education
Know and implement agency and program policies and procedures Forge
internal and external partnerships to support department efforts
This role is further responsible for modeling the values and
principles of HomeFirst within the agency and the broader
community. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience A Master's
degree in the mental health profession required At least 4 years of
experience working in a behavioral health setting preferred Current
license from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as
an LMFT or LCSW, OR current license from the California Board of
Psychology (BOP) as a clinical psychologist. Skills, Abilities, and
Knowledge Knowledge of clinical techniques for assessment,
treatment, and interventions for people with behavioral health
illnesses Experience managing clinical staff Knowledge of the legal
and ethical guidelines for clinical practice for each discipline
and licensing board Demonstrated ability to both work independently
and collaborate with teams Ability to organize and meet deadlines
independently Ability to remain calm in emergency situations Work
from a strength-based and harm reduction model Understanding of and
sensitivity to the needs of the homeless and recently housed
population High level of flexibility and ability to independently
prioritize appropriately Work effectively with people from
different value systems, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, and
disabilities Work effectively with vulnerable and under-represented
populations Valid CA Driver's License and auto insurance and a
reliable personal vehicle a plus Comfortable and knowledgeable with
using computer software and databases Physical duties will include
