Group/DivisionThe Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in developing advanced long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working on future technology like light sources, lasers, and sensors. We are engaged in the research and development process, and once the technology is mature, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we've developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA's strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we leverage the collective knowledge within our company.

We are engaged at the front end of the research and development process, and once the technology is proven, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we've developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA's strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we take full advantage of the collective knowledge within our company. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with KLA's system experts to analyze critical system performance requirements and determine key specifications for the optics
• Design complex, high-precision optical systems including proposing innovative approaches to minimizing aberrations while streamlining the manufacturing process
• Assemble, align and characterize the optical systems that you have designed
• Work with KLA's manufacturing partners to address key fabrication and metrology issues
• Work with KLA's product divisions to implement your optics designs into their inspection and metrology systems Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Ph.D. in optics or involving optical design
  • Proficiency in at least one optical design tool such as OSLO or Zemax OpticStudio
  • Deep understanding of optical aberration theory and its application in optical design
  • Good analytical skills
  • Familiarity with numerical programming using languages such as Matlab, Python, etc.
  • Familiarity with optical fabrication processes and optical metrology technologies
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
