Job Description:

The Organization

We are Emerging Technologies and Incubations (ET&I) at Cisco. We are chartered to build the next new business for Cisco. To take Cisco into new markets, and especially towards new personas - both buyer and user. And like building a startup from the ground up, it's all about having an entrepreneurial mindset. Taking an idea from a crazy thought to a product that solves a critical need, to an experience that delights users and customers. It's about innovation. From 12 months out to 5 years in the future. Wearing multiple hats. Failing and learning, fast. About challenging assumptions and finding new ways of solving problems. Driving form from ambiguity. About creativity. We are looking for entrepreneurs. Thinkers. Designers. Marketers. Product Led Growth experts. Business Development, SDRs, Customer Success. Product Managers, SWEs, SREs. Data Scientists and ML engineers. Yes, we are building the next set of startups with the support of a trusted name like Cisco. Where else will you get to do this? We are Cisco ET&I. We run bold, we run agile, and we run ambitious. Come create with us.

The Role

As a Principal Product Designer in Product-Led Growth you will help us drive user adoption and growth through product experience and value delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for designing intuitive and engaging user experiences that inform and inspire our users with a focus on showcasing the incredible value of our products. You will play a key role in the team, by designing not only intuitive and user-friendly interfaces but implementing a value-led strategy that fosters adoption across a complex product set.

What we're looking for:

  • A long track record of delivering powerful product experiences, with a strong portfolio showcasing the work
  • A deep understanding of user-centered metrics and the ability to combine them with design strategies that impact time to value
  • Experience with product-led growth strategies and a deep understanding of how to use design to drive user engagement and adoption
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to come up with innovative solutions that go beyond traditional component delivery
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with complex SaaS products
  • Exceptional story-telling and narrative creation skills
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
    What you can expect:
    • The opportunity to work on complex and challenging software products
    • A collaborative and dynamic team environment
    • Conducting user research to understand the challenges and pain points that users are experiencing that go beyond their in-product experience.
    • Identifying areas where the product could be improved in terms of not only usability to decrease friction but inform and inspire the user to engage further
    • Collaborating with the design team to create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that reflect any growth improvements including designing features and functions that make the product more valuable to users.
    • Collaborating with the product and development teams to implement the improvements to the product.
    • Creating narratives that support a growth improvement or feature. This could involve creating materials, such as videos and case studies, that showcase the metrics and impact.
    • The opportunity to mentor designers and foster the vision of designing for growth.

      We Are Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Here's how we do it.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we're "old" (30 years strong!) and only about hardware, but we're also a software company. And a security company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do - you can't put us in a box!

But "Digital Transformation" is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, we give our egos a break and we give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, we take bold steps, and we take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a commitment to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don't care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That's cool.
