Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.
The LS-SWIFT Division of KLA's Global Products Group provides patterned wafer inspection systems for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. Its mission is to deliver market-leading cost of ownership in defect detection for a broad range of applications in the production of semiconductors. Customers from the foundry, logic, memory, automotive, MEMS, advanced packaging and other markets rely upon high-sample wafer inspection information generated by LS-SWIFT products. LS (Laser Scanning) systems enable cost-effective patterned wafer defect detection for the industry's most sophisticated process technologies deployed in leading-edge foundry, logic, DRAM, and NAND fabs. SWIFT (Simultaneous Wafer Inspection at Fast Throughput) systems deliver all-wafer-surface (frontside, backside, and edge) macro inspection that is critical for automotive IC, MEMS, and advanced packaging processes as well as foundry/logic and memory fabs. LS-SWIFT operates from a global footprint that includes the US, Singapore, India and Germany, and serves a worldwide customer base across Asia, Europe and North America.
Responsibilities

• Independently develop major product features on the image sensors and support sophisticated projects to meet technology, performance, and schedule objectives.
• Understand and gather project specifications and performance requirements on the system level.
• Propose and develop image sensor qualification fixture, modify and integrate the existing optical and electrical design to achieve the desired functionality.
• Solve challenging engineering problems by characterizing components, designing/prototyping analog front-end circuits, gathering schematics, directing analog layout, and debugging the PCBAs in the labs.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, research scientists, optical engineering, and characterization specialists to develop the sensor characterization solution and ensure a flawless integration test at the subsystem and/or system level.
• Define test criteria and execute those test plans on functional prototypes in the lab to prove the reliability/safety of the designed subsystem.
• Provide mentorship, support, and assistance to less experienced, electrical design engineers.
  Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience Opto-electrical Design Engineer
  • Deep understanding and extensive experience in Opto-electrical design including simulation, analysis, and verification testbench development.
  • Strong Electrical Engineering and Physics fundamentals (analog/RF design, Optoelectronics design, electromagnetic theory, etc.)
  • Comfortable with optical component like Lens, beam splitter, ND filters, etc.
  • Expertise with data analysis through Matlab and/or Python.
  • Proficiency in lab environments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.
  • Proficiency in Spice and EM(electromagnetic) simulation would be plus
  • Expertise in schematic capture, and board layout tools including Orcad & Cadence Allegro would be bonus
