Job Description:

Senior Electrical/Mechanical Assembly TechnicianSummary: Assembles electronic components, sub-assemblies, products, or systems for industrial use by performing the following duties in a production environment.Identifies and helps prepare designs for custom cabinets, panels and cables working closely with Design Engineers and Engineering Manager or customers to define solutions to complete the designed product requested by customers.Assists with preparing final bill of materials using spreadsheets, sketching, and marking blueprint or electrical schematic drawings.Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully and developing alternative solutions to ensure that final product meets customer specifications.Adheres to scheduled timelines to ensure customer shipment dates, equipment specifications, and quality specifications are met by working closely with the Engineering.Assists with recommending measures and ways to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.Reads work orders, electrical schematics, and follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.Positions and aligns parts in light metal fabrication and cable assembly process according to knowledge of unit being assembled or by following blueprints.Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis panel.Assembles electrical wiring and components and connects to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.Installs finished assemblies or sub-assemblies in cases, cabinets, or panels.Assembles and attaches hardware, switches, and PLC component assemblies.Operates drill presses (optional) and small hand tools.Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.-Perform through hole PCB Assembly with lead-free solder-Perform point to point wiring from schematics-Build cables and harnessing from BOM's and schematics-Must know resistor color rode and be able to identify component symbols and values-Must be able to use hand tools such as cordless screwdrivers, soldering irons, cutters, strippers, and pliers
